1. About HireIndex
HireIndex ("we", "our", "us") operates hireindex.app, a static job directory listing AI/ML roles indexed by skill and city. We do not require user accounts and we do not sell your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
We do not directly collect personal information. HireIndex is a static site — there are no user registrations, comment forms, or first-party analytics tracking. Third-party services embedded in this site (specifically Google AdSense) may collect data as described below.
3. Cookies and Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to hireindex.app and other sites.
- Cookies may be used to measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and tailor ad content.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time using the links in Section 5 below, or by declining cookies via the consent notice when you first visit.

When you first visit HireIndex, we display a cookie consent notice. Your choices:
- Accept all — enables personalised ads based on your interests and browsing history.
- Decline — Google will serve non-personalised, contextual ads only (based on page content, not your browsing history). No behavioural profiling occurs.
Your preference is stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie itself) and persists until you clear your browser data. You can change your preference at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

6. GDPR — Rights for EEA and UK Residents

7. CCPA — Rights for California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to:

- Opt out of the sale of personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising CCPA rights.
We do not sell personal information. We do not collect personal information beyond what third-party ad services (Google) collect autonomously. To opt out of ad personalisation, use the links in Section 5 above or email hello@hireindex.app.
8. Data Retention
HireIndex does not store personal data on its servers. Cookie and behavioural data managed by Google is subject to Google's data retention schedules. Consent preferences stored in your browser's local storage persist until you clear site data.
9. Third-Party Links
Job listings on HireIndex link directly to company career pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or data handling of those external sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
10. Children's Privacy
HireIndex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or process information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us at hello@hireindex.app and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be noted here. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
